GLOW! After School Sign-up Online

You can now sign up your child for GLOW! our after school program.
GLOW is for boys and girls in Grades 1 – 4 and meets Wednesdays after school from 3:30 – 5:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall beginning Wednesday, October 5, 2011. Snack sign-ups are on the bulletin board outside the Chapel Lounge. Please call our church office if you are willing to help.

Traveling Music Ministry to Lead
Worship in October
The weekend of October 1 & 2, Christ and Faith Lutheran will host a traveling music ministry called “Watermark.” The group is one of several traveling both in the U.S. and overseas under the direction of the ministry organization “Youth Encounter.” They will be visiting U.S. congregations this fall, then going to Germany for the winter, before returning for more U.S. visits in the spring. The team is made up of college-age men & women, who have committed to one full year with this ministry, and will need overnight housing while they are with us.
Willing host homes should expect to have one or two of the group Saturday and Sunday nights. Group members will be eager to get acquainted with their hosts, but do not expect to be entertained or waited on. They will be grateful if you let them do some laundry while they’re with you.
More details about the teams needs will be available for anyone interested in hosting one of these young people. Youth Encounter is an evangelical and confessional Christian organization that offers youth ministry resources to the church. Incorporated in Minnesota by Lutherans in 1965, the organization serves churches of all denominations, nationally and internationally.
Please help us welcome and encourage these gifted and ministry-minded young people!
New Member Classes, 2011

A series of three classes will be offered for people who are interested in becoming members of Christ Lutheran. These classes are designed to review some basics of Christian teaching (particularly the Apostles’ Creed), how Lutherans are different from other Christians (and how we are not different!), and then provide an orientation to the ministries and opportunities of our particular congregation. Anyone is welcome to attend. If you know of someone who is interested in joining, please invite them and let one of the pastors know so that we may extend an invitation, too. Classes are scheduled to meet at 7:00 PM in the Chapel Lounge on the following Thursdays:

September 29—Our Lutheran Heritage
October 6—Our Congregation’s Heritage
