The Mission Outreach Ministry Board’s ministry statement declares, “Called by God, we seek to provide spiritual, physical, and emotional support, spreading God’s Word and sacraments beyond the congregation into the community, nation and world.” The Board seeks to give vision and set goals for the congregation in the areas of global and local mission, providing education and projects in which people might get involved. Our local mission projects include the Murray County Food Shelf and Shetek Lutheran Ministries (outdoor ministry), cradle meals for families with new babies, and providing support for our troops who are overseas. We also encourage regular support of the ELCA World Hunger Appeal, and seek to help victims of fire, flood, tornado, hunger, and illness on both a local and global level. The Mission Outreach Board is also responsible for welcome and orientation of new members.
