Mission Action
Sewing Circle
Our Stewardship Workday is the 4th Tuesday and the 4th Wednesday afternoon of each month beginning at 1:00 pm, or as announced, such as November and December, which will be announced. Simple quilts and other projects are worked on during this time. Coffee is furnished and a pot-luck snack is enjoyed. Come and join in the fun of quilting and fellowship. (Check our WCLC Activities page for current dates.)
The finished quilts are sent to overseas missions through Lutheran World Relief and to local needs as we become aware of them. We also present a quilt to our high school graduates each year as a reminder of God’s love for them. Here are some details about the quilts:
- We always need fabric, old sheets, blankets, yarn and thread
- Every quilt, plain or fancy will comfort a child of God in time of need
- Quilts will be washed very often, so must be durable
- Sizes vary depending on the need
Drug addicted infants are tiny: 36″ by 36″
Crib babies – about 36″ by 45″
Toddlers – about 40″ by 48″
Children to age 18 – lap quilts and up to single bed size
We Thank God For Our Quilters
Cherish Our Children / ASK (Adults Saving Kids)
We are concerned about our young people being vulnerable to sexual exploitation. We work to prevent this through prayer, through providing current information, and by receiving offerings at circle meetings for ASK.
