Mission Community
Christmas in August
This is a time when all circles work together and visit every shut-in, nursing home resident, and/or anyone in the congregation who would appreciate a visit. Since many groups visit these people around Christmas time, we make our “Christmas” visits in August.
Meals on Wheels
We work with other churches and civic groups in the community to deliver hot meals to the home-bound.
Birthday Greetings
We try to acknowledge the birthday of every woman in our congregation, celebrating God’s gift of life. We then invite them to make a “birthday gift” to one of the missions with which our congregation is involved.
Nursing Home Christmas Project
The Christmas Project that the WCLC does with Golden Living is undergoing some changes. This year (2011) we will be giving each resident a small fleece throw for Christmas on December 5. There are about 55-60 residents that we’ll give gifts to—about 2/3 are women. We’d like your help in purchasing throws for Golden Living gifts. Throws can be brought to the office. You can also give cash toward the project. Make checks payable to WCLC with “GL Throws” in the memo. Thank you in advance for your help with this project.
Murray County Food Shelf
Our women’s organization encourages congregational support of the Murray County Food Shelf, particularly during “Minnesota Food Share Month” in March. A basket for donated food is available in our entry area throughout the year.
